FAQ

What gear is needed?

The basic equipment your child will need: a helmet, elbow pads, shin pads, skates, and a stick.

For skates, they can use regular rollerblades which many of our players will do until parents feel they are ready to move on to traditional-style inline hockey skates.

My child can’t skate, can we still join?

Absolutely! Learn to Play and Learn to Skate clinics will be held before the regular Spring season, dates to be posted soon. Additional skate work may be offered throughout the season to help with skill and safety.

Is this a full-contact sport?

Inline roller hockey is a contact sport. Full gear is not required as it is for ice hockey, inline rules do not allow for full body checking or stick hooking. See our guidelines for specifics

When are games normally held?

All games for all F-level teams are held on Sundays. If weather delays or holidays  occur, alternative Saturday schedules will be issued.

How is play time distributed? Does my availability for practice or ability affect play time?

All players will be allotted the time to play as long as they have the proper equipment and the basic skating skills to ensure safety for both themselves and their teammates.

How can I help volunteer or sponsor?

We appreciate your time and helpfulness! Sign-ups for volunteer duties will be sent out throughout the season when help is needed. Potential sponsors may contact us or download the information from our sponsors page.

We also utilize Amazon, eBay, play it again sports to source equipment. Columbia's Play It Again Sports sometimes will have gear but it’s mostly in St. Louis where there is more available. Jeff City Washington Ice Arena has gear as well and is actually reasonably priced. They just don't have roller hockey skates.
